In the book The Forgotten Rina Lazarus and her husband Peter Decker (LAPD Homicide Lieutenant) recently found out that their Jewish synagogue had been vandalized by a supposed 'Nazi/white hate group'. Decker has taken the case into his own hands and has started a search of all the private schools. He started at his sons school so that the other schools would have no reason to not cooperate.
At his sons school he finds noting out of the ordinary so he goes goes to Foreman Prep. Once there he starts searching the student's lockers. He finds nothing suspicious until he gets to a senior named Ernesto Golding. He searched his locker and found nothing, but when he started to go to the next student Ernesto had a suspicious smirk on his face. He searched his backpack and found Nazi death camp photos (like the ones that were at the synagogue) and a silver goblet that was stolen from the synagogue. When questioned privately he confessed to the whole thing but didn't say who helped him.
Visualization-
I my head I saw the smirk on Ernesto's face when Decker found nothing then the worried look on his face when he was asked to open his backpack.

ReplyDeleteJon-- this book looks great. I love books that are set in historical events or current global tensions. They are so interesting; I like how they can bring new light to on-going battles.
