The Forgotten Part 2

After Decker interviews Ernesto he realizes that he has no leads to the other culprit(s). When he gets back to his house after a long day at work he started to talk with his son (Jacob)about the 'random' drug check on the schools.
His son knows that it isn't just a routine drug check because Decker a lieutenant wouldn't have gone to do it, he would have sent someone 'under him' to do it. So therefore he had reason to believe that his father was abusing his privileges as a lieutenant to check up on him (considering the fact that he has had a history of drug abuse). Decker tells Jacob that the drug check had nothing to do with him personally. Eventually Jacob put the pieces together and figured out that the check must have had something to do with the vandalism at the synagogue. He got mad at his father for accusing him and his classmates for such a retched thing. Decker assures him that the check at his school wasn't because he thought that one of the students there did it but, for the simple reason that the other schools would have no reasonable reason to not let them do a check.
Around the end of the conversation he asked if Jacob knew Ernesto Golding. He said that he knew him a little because of parties and drugs then asked if he had anything to do with the vandalism. Decker wasn't allowed to give away that kind of information so he simply told him that it was classified. Jacob was very smart and realized that it was Ernesto who vandalized the synagogue, he wanted to know more but Decker wasn't allowed to tell him anymore than he already has. Eventually Decker asked Jacob if he knew anyone that Ernesto knew that would do something like the vandalism. He said that there was a girl (Ruby) that Ernesto had been dating for a while and is very racist.

Relates to the world-
- This relates to the world because, in the world today there are many groups/gangs that don't always make the right choices. And sometimes that can lead to even worse choices and potentially life threatening choices, not only to themselves but fr others as well.
- I feel that if there is anyone else that may have had something to do with the vandalism that the only reason they are doing it is to either impress someone, or they have had very bad influences in there life. If Ernesto did have one of these people assist in the vandalism then they may have potentially caused him to change his thoughts and opinions about everything that he believes in for life.

  1. Do you mean very racist??

What a crazy spin to the story!! Did you see it coming? It reminds me of an episode of "Criminal Minds" that I saw once in which the Sherrif's kid in a small town ends up being the murderer...

  3. Haha, I agree with Linds! I think you are being very thoughtful with your posts.

One thing I either missed or didn't mention last time I read this post is your thoughts about gangs and the choices they make. I think sometimes decision-making is a slippery-slope...you make one bad choice (for example, TO BE IN A GANG) and suddenly....before you know it...you are all the way at the bottom of the mountain without knowing how you got there nor how to get out.
